It's standard 70% MAP pricing that every Spyderco dealer agrees to sell at (or no lower than) and there is NO SAVINGS involved at that price.

Nothing unusual. Cutlery Shoppe is not the only one displaying savings off of MSRP in different ways:
  • KnifeCenter - "MSRP* : $300.00 | You Save* : $90.00 (30%)"
  • BladeHQ - "MSRP: $300.00 Our Price: $210.00"
  • GP Knives - "Retail: $300.00 $210.00"
  • KnifeWorks - "$289.00 $210.00 (You save $79.00)"

That doesn't make it "better" and IMO it's "deceptive" advertising all the way around.

For people who "know better" (like most of us here), it doesn't matter but for the uninformed it's misleading to say that the MAP price is offering ANY savings whatsoever.

The ONLY true "savings" you can get is to buy at 50% off of MSRP as an OpFocus member directly from Spyderco instead of 70% off MSRP (at MAP dealer pricing).
