Spyderco 2021 Product Guide

Damn, and I was holding my breath for a K390 Manix or Shaman.

Is it just me or did they bring back the old school Police in SS? Has it been back before

Stainless Police was in the 2020 catalog.

I doubt they’ll do any of the US-made knives in K390 as regular production, given that they’ve been treating it mainly as a ZDP replacement for the Seki models.

I'm not hoping for a regular production, I'll take a sprint!

I was hoping for a glimpse of the K390 Stretch. Alas, no joy.

I guess it could happen, but the Bento Box exclusive K390 PM2 probably could make it less likely, since that’d mean they wouldn’t be able to do a “full set” of K390 Sprints
I believe only the color configuration and finish is exclusive, the steel is not. Similar to how there were two 52100 PM2s for Knifeworks and Knife Center. Anyways, I have a PM2 in K390 but I sure would LOVE a Manix!

I want to like Spyderco, really I do.

But the "Build-It-Around-A-Hole" thing throws me.

Do you really need to put a hole in the fixed blades too? Wouldn't the little Spyder logo be enough?

Kinda want a GB2 though. Looks pretty low profile in spite of the hole opener. Love CPM-M4, love a liner lock... Damn that hole in the blade though.

I could do without the hike in fixed blades, but I vastly prefer holes for opening folders. I hate thumbstuds and don’t love flippers either. To each his own. The GB2 is great though. A tough blade that begs to be used!

It’s the only way they can justify a trademark on something they’d already had a patent on (which shouldn’t happen).

Spyderco and hole just belong together by this time .

Yeah , I thought it was weird when they first started out ...but now it wouldn't seem right any other way . ;)

"jstn posted ... I hate thumbstuds and don’t love flippers either. To each his own. .."

thumb studs are kinda weird stubby protrusions. not the most aesthetic,
and considering how long they have bwen around, one would have expected something
fancier in form by now, but they do work.
yeah, some neat stuff for 2021.
but i think may have only just spotted
something a little more down to earth
and considerably affordable;
even its been a whole year (if not more) since.its introduction.

Owned a Byrd before I owned a proper Spyderco. The thing stayed sharp through countless boxes. It was great quality for the price and really sold me on Spyderco.

entry level stuff is a great way
to discover the essence of any brand.
unlike you, guess i m sorta going
in reverse now :)
but its an amazing second chance
to slowly discover and explore
the earlier snubbed pickings.along
the super highway to maxout city.

Thanks for posting this. My first impression: They're playing it safe. Not a lot of new stuff or surprises.

What do you guys think?
