Any news on this? Particularly, any pics. With Busse's folder becoming eternal vaporware, one must look elsewhere for their sharpened, folding, prybard needs... :)

Thanks for the response Sal, between the "Tuff" and the Samaritan, I'm VERY VERY excited for Spyderco's future releases.

I read a post that said the Tuff prototype had a 3/16" thick blade. I wonder how long the blade will be.

3/16" thick is the same stock thickness used on some of the Busse Fixed blades, some of the Buck-striders, etc., and it's thicker than the stock on the Manix and the Paramilitary... it should make for a very stout blade. :)

It sounds like this one may be a bit big for me, but 3V steel ain't too bad. I have a Mini Bug-Out-Blade by Peter Atwood that's done in 3V....takes a good edge, cuts well and holds that edge pretty well. I haven't tried prying with it, but I understand it's tough too.

The Tuff sounds like an interesting knife.
:)

I hope the blade is in the 4-4.25" range (I prefer a larger folder, expecially if it is for hard use)

will spyderco be the first productioncompany doing cpm 3v?

i got a good idea, if you´re gonna start making 3v knives pleease let it be an option for all american made knives (or atleast the 10 most popular ones), that would be killer. :)

What's good about CPM-3V?
It seems a poor steel... I would have preferred D2 between non-stainless steel...

There's nothing poor about 3V steel. It's a tough, high wear steel that isn't stainless.

It's both tougher ( shock resistance) and should have better wear resistance than D2, though less stain resistance. Joe
