Hmmm. That’s unsettling and seems like a step backwards.

I was mostly curious if they have a solution for replacing or upgrading the internals, were you to send in the knife.

Only thing that really worried me was if I sent it in and they replaced the crappy thin washers with the exact same ones. Oh well, I’ll never know now!

I would think they would use the new blade and washers/bearings.
Anything less would be an epic fail.

Therein lies the issue (& the crux of my interest). I’m not sure if the bearings/washers are directly swapable without also a blade swap or something similar.

They are not interchangeable. Spyderco has to replace the knife with a new version.
