How many of you know much about the Air? I can't seem to find much on it. I think I want one though......lol. I hate ordering one to find out though. There are none locally around here.

Tell me about it.

I used to have one. Great little knife with M4 steel.
Which Spydercos are you really familiar with? Because it would be a good idea to get some side by side pictures for a size comparison before you make a decision. Depends on your tastes obviously but the Air is, as I said, a little knife.

Have to agree with Barman it is a small knife and M4 is not stainless. But Spyderco does do a nice job on heat treat on this blade.

I have been tempted by the Air, but so far the Chaparral is my smallest Spyderco.

I would personally like to see a comparison pick of an Air next to something like a SAK Cadet to get a better idea of the size.

The Air is a Gayle Bradley design, titanium liners, Walker liner lock, silver twill glass fiber and CPM M4 steel. It is a very light knife by design. It does not have a pocket clip. It is a sweet knife

A pic next to a Chaparral

Thank you to everyone that shared an opinion. I am going to try one. I can't order it today, but when I get it I will share my opinion on it. I've been looking at it for about a month now, and I love the blade shape, and I'd like to try the M4 steel, plus a really small pocket knife sounds good to me.

And, I like it that there is no pocket clip, so it would be deep carry, as I have lost the same expensive knife TWICE before, and don't want to go through that again.

Thank you all again, and enjoy your Holiday weekend!

Thanks all for the pics and links. Looks a little bigger than I'd imagined next the the Chaparral.

Hope you enjoy the knife osta.doc!

You won't regret it. I really like mine. Very light, almost jewel-like. Great fit and finish.

With a couple other small ones

I had a chance to handle one when I went to the Spyderco factory outlet, and let me tell you, the Air earns its name. I couldn't believe how light weight this knife is. It's not just that it's light, but it also looks extremely well finished. Usually a knife this light will have plastic all around, but not so with the Air. Only quality materials are used. I suggest you handle one in person if you can, you'll be able to decide right away if it's for you.

Its unchartered territory. That's how I would define the genre for this knife, because you're not getting much based on the size. You could get a PM2 for cheaper.

What you are getting is high quality materials, hydraulic opening feel ...its really smooth (think Sebenza), and a really handsome overall knife imo.

Worth the money, but it delves into what I would call a luxury knife. Go for it!

True, you can get a lot of knives for cheaper, like the PM2, Military, Manix, etc. I am hesitant to pull any of those out while I'm at my company's corporate offices in NYC though. The Air however, doesn't even get a second look. Same territory as if I pulled out a slipjoint, or small lockback.

I would really like to have one, but would prefer a black CF scales and a clip. I really wished they would have put a wire clip on them.

I love my Air but I have to agree with this sentiment. I've read where it was debated clip vs no clip before the Air went into production and it was a 50/50 split. I for one cannot see the negative of a wire clip because if you don't use it, you take it off and BAM; no clip! Hopefully in the future they will make a run with clip and the carbon fiber like on the chapparal.
