Spyderco Amalgam detent fix?

Sorry you had problems Texan42, let us know how it turns out!

For what it's worth, the detents on the copies I've handled have been bordering on the soft side, but still acceptable. I can shake the blade out with a snap, but if I'm just moving my arm back and forth the blade stays put.

I have 3 Spides. Delica Endura, Military. None can be shacked out. Not even close. Send it back to Spyderco. I have dealt with there service dept. They are really good.

My other Spyerco knives have absolutely no problems, solidly built! LMAO, was so eager to get it and now have to send it back, oh well, such is life.

I kind of expect a soft detent out of Taichung spydie these days.

I think if you sent it in they'd send it right back to you. The blade can be shaken out so easily because of the mass- it's a big blade.

Yeah, but I've got knives with big blades and more mass that don't shake out.....hopefully something can be done.

Yeah its a combo of the Taichung detent and the mass of the blade. You can send it in if you want, I'm just willing to bet a pretty penny they'll send it right back to you saying its within spec.
