The 17th Spyderco Amsterdam Meet was a blast, thank you for your patience for my report with photos of some of the upcoming Spyderco production samples.
Apart from meeting Eric, Lisa and Peter from the Spydercrew and getting a look at the new concept models, prototypes and production sample, it was great to see so many familiar faces again. It’s nice to see how this hobby binds so many of us. Thank you to all who attended, for bringing your enthusiasm and making it a great gathering. And of course, many thanks to the Spydercrew for hosting this awesome event!
The day started with a presentation by Eric, in which he presented each and every one of the new designs that are in various stages of development. I’m guesstimating he brought about 60 new models. I could identify roughly 3 stages of development: a concept model (often a custom piece from a designer), a prototype (the first stage of adapting the concept into a production model), and a production prototype (the knife now looks almost identical to the final production version). I could photograph and post a few of the upcoming production samples, many of which are likely to appear in the next Reveal catalog.
Please note, I have no information about the availability or pricing of these knives and products. For some of the models that haven’t been revealed yet, I took rudimentary measurements, none of which should be considered ‘catalog-correct’. Any mistakes or deviations etc… are mine. Basically, when it comes to these photographs, videos and measurements; I’m a fan – not an expert.
I’ll post the first batch of content momentarily, and I’ll add more to this thread in the coming days.
