Spyderco and IKBS

I think IKBS on the TI military would be great. I can open it fairly easily but its not as smooth as I'd like and I did have to adjust the pivot tension on mine to stop very slight side to side blade movement (no movement now).

The bushing system on the Manix 2 is very awesome. Smooth and solid, not quite up to my Galyean Pro JYD but then again it was half the price. :^)

So in conclusion, Bushing good, IKBS good and TI military good but could be a little better.

with a bushing, it would defeat that problem. the blade will never move whether it would be locked or unlocked. it would be smoother, and there is no more guesswork on the pivot tension.

IKBS will still not solve the blade play problem. you can still over tighten the pivot and take down would be a headache.

Yeah that's why i mentioned it. It's a good system, the one negative thing I've heard about it is that it requires quite tight manufacturing tolerances.

My understanding of IKBS is that if it doesn't eliminate blade play all together it minimizes it to the point where its not really a concern, while still allowing for very smooth opening. As far as take down is concerned I don't think its a big issue, I've done it before and as long as you know its an IKBS knife it shouldn't be a problem.

Either are, as far as I'm concerned, better then the standard washers being used today. But I like new and shiny. :D
