Spyderco and Kershaw

My votes in order of preference:

Delica Wave=Native 3D
Delica
Leek=JYD
Tenacious
Speed Bump
Byrd line
Shallot

Thanks for all the inputs, the gunshow will have most of these available for handling, I will see how much negotiation the knife dealers will allow.
I used to setup at gunshows myself, sold highcapacity gun magazines when it looked like they would be banned forever. I saw that the magazine ban was temporary and got out of highcaps before the ban was lifted. .

Just a friendly suggestion, but you might want to remove that last sentence before a mod sees it...

I agree that the classic Spyderco Delica4 and Kershaw Leek (assuming you are right-handed) will be a good intro to both companies.

I had a Native but traded it for my D4. The D4 "feels" like a more expensive knife (liners, fit and finish), and I wasn't blown away by the S30V on the Native.

Lots of good Kershaws, but the basic SS Leek is sweet. If I didn't have LH issues with the Leek, I'd still have it.

Kershaw Junkyard Dog II is like a high quality custom. It's a flipper and has no thumbstuds (which I like for sharpening purposes). The flipping action is smooth and addictiv. The knife comes razor sharp outta the box. The ergos is great. The G10 is grippy and lastly the linerlock is almost like a framelock!

Also the Kershaw Lahar is a good cutter with VG10 steel. Equally good ergos and the liner lock is rock solid.

Let us know which you choose ok? :)

Today I have returned from the gunshow with four knives and a knife roll. Spyderco Delica in VG-10, Kershaw Leek, not sure if it is the newer Sandavik steel or not as it is dated Jul 06, a Rough Rider medium stockman in imitation tortose and a Marttinni utility hunter Condor. Of the four the Condor is the sharpest out of the box followed by the Delica. The knife roll is from Hickory Hill? and seems to be of very nice quality. Total outlay was $140, most of this covered by selling off most of my remaining gun magazines to a dealer who sold parts as well as firearms.
Nice haul for one day.
Also my Browning Trapper model made in China finally arrived from an ebay auction. I still say the Brownings are the best of all Chinese made slipjoints I have purchased.

Kershaw: Leek or, and I'm surprised nobody has suggested this yet, GROOVE. It quickly became my favourite knife.

Can't really go wrong with any Spyderco (or Kershaw for that matter). But if you want to go WAY under budget, don't neglect the Byrd line, AWSOME knives for really cheap.

Consider a Spyderco Native. One of the best knives produced where price and weight are concerned. S30V steel too.

My Spyder Native is my favorite lower-price knife. My favorite Kershaw is the Chive, it's my most office-friendly knife.
