Spyderco Assisted Opener

Just to get back to the original question. Yes i would be interested if was a well executed one. I have had many AO knives, some better than others, many I removed the AO devices with significant improvement to the knife in my opinion for instance the Kershaw Blur, And some in have left it because it was a positive addition to the knife like the Kershaw Leek. All depends on the execution of the blade.

It's all about the HOLE,that's a Spyder knife.A thin fast opening knife that won't fail. Most A/O knives are rather thick and kinda clumsy in form and ergo. Some really old A/Os I have are getting slower than me.An old Spyder only gets faster with age like fine wine so why change it?Lol, it would be sorta like George Straight becoming a Rap Singer. They do a great job of constantly improving the models they already make and coming out with new ones incorporating the Spyder concept.Like my Father used to tell me,if it works don't fix it.:)

Nothing wrong with asking. Nothing wrong with folks saying why they would, or would not, be interested. Nothing appeals to everyone, so some disinterest is to be expected no matter what is proposed. On the other hand, as noted, this idea has come up many times before and Sal has expressed a strong disinclination to pursue it. So, unless his feelings have swung around almost 180º, the chances of Spyderco making one seem fairly low.

Agreed, however Spyderco is generally very receptive to the wants of their customer base. So perhaps some time in the future they will try it out if there is significant demand.
