I just got a SE Stainless ATR in a trade. Love the knife. Smooth opening, with a really thick integral compression lock. Cobra hood isn't something I love, but on this knife it works really well.

Blade shape reminds me of my D'Allara, with the upswept modified sheepsfoot design. The long upper swedge goes right down to the tip. Thins it out a lot and makes it great for detail work.

The clip I thought looked a little weird in pictures, but I like it. Could be a little higher, but I don't mind it all that much.

Solid stainless steel makes this thing heavy in the hand and pocket, and quite slippery as well. Upside is the handle design is similar to the Superhawk/Manix/Chinook style and really locks your hand into the knife.

Now I know I should run and hide if I ever see the Ti version for sale. I don't think I could help myself. :D

I think the ATR lives up to it's name, it's very fast to deploy.
I've got PE and serrated SS, a Ti in serrated and I'd like to get the Ti in PE.

Josh,

If you got that from Dr. Lecter, it was the one I recently traded him. He already let it go huh? It's a great knife. Glad you like it.:D

I did. Been looking for one to try out, and it really does life up to it's name.

Now for a PE Ti version. :D

If you're finding the ATR too slippery & a little too heavy, you can always have this done to it...:D

The ATR is nice stout knife. I was offered a knife I wanted more so off it went.

If the right deal came along, I'd pick up another one.

I have 2 both PE one SS one Ti I have carried the SS every day since release from Spyderco it has seen some rough work but sails right through. The Ti is the look I'm dressed up knife :)

i have 3 ti ATR's (2 PE and a SE) and a PE SS, i really like the ti version, in fact my PE ti ATR is about the only production i ever carry anymore, so its not only easily my fav spydie its probably my fav production knife, it is a very good one.

while the SS version is "ok" too, its not as good as the ti imho.

i have never had any problems with the grip being slippery on my ti version, in fact the secure grip is one thing i like about it, all my edc knives must have a secure grip, while i'm no big fan of the cobra hood i like it on the ATR, also like the clip a lot,

none of my ti ATR's are for sale i'll tell ya that.

My SS ATR is probably one of my favorite Spydercos. Great knife, built well, great lock. The clip is a bit tight, but it's not all that bad in my opinion. My only problem is I got the SE version, and would much prefer to have a plain edge version as I only use PE nowadays.

I was at an army/navy surplus store yesterday and was checking out a couple spyderco's they had on display - I don't get to handle many besides the ones I've already purchased. So I picked up a little persian, a native, captain, dyad jr... and the guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable on model names, etc.

So then he asked me about the shiny steel clip on my pocket, and I showed him an SS PE ATR. Look on his face was like a kid on christmas. He said he'd never seen a "backwards frame lock" haha.

I do like that mod. What was the cost on that?

Thank you. "trimcut123" did the mods on the ATR. I'm not sure he's doing the multicolor G-10 just like that one, but I know he gets/has different material all the time.

As to another posters question about the Yojimbo. That one was waved by I don't know who, & the blade was bead-blasted. It works fine, but it's getting redone so it'll look better.

I recently picked up another P'Kal, so if I want a waved knife, I'll probably carry that instead of the Yoji.
