spyderco,benchmade,crkt

i just recived a spyderco persian and a benchmade h&k tanto from the knife connection. the h&k seems to have an alright fit and finish (tork screws are not centerd. handle is a little high on one side)but the spyderco is really inpressive very good fit and finish super sharp blade. I thought benchmade was known for quality controll? by the way i have a crkt m-21 it also is right there with spyderco fit and finish but the spyde has a sharper blade and better blade material vg-10 vs aus8. anyone feel the same?

Benchmade is an excellent company. Every company occasionally has knives with imperfections, or something about a particular knife that isn't up to our standards. I've handled individual knives from virtually every manufacturer that had imperfections, including some Spydercos. So it's not really fair to rate an entire company just on the basis of one knife.

thats true. this was my first benchmade and spyderco. just wanted to share what i saw. dont get me wrong the hk is awsome just not perfect its also the most expensive knife i own mabee iam just too picky. by the way its not so bad that i want to extange it.

Was it the CRKT or the H&K that has the aus8 blade? I was thinking that benchmade used better steels such as 154cm.

I have an endura in vg-10 and I have been very impressed by this steel, it is very easy to sharpen and takes a very good edge.

I think that BM and Spyderco are on par with quality control. Also, either company has great customer service in those rare instances that a flaw slips through.

the crkt has the aus8 its an aswome knife for the money. i still like benchmade i also like the fact that its made in the usa i just ordered the benchmade shirmish ill see how that goes

If adjusting you Benchmade with the torx did the trick then great. But if there are still quality problems with it I would suggest you give customer service a call and send it in to them. They are notoriously helpful about servicing customer complaints.
