Spyderco black coating on Manix 2 scrapped off immediately.

I use an eraser to clean my DLC blades. It works really well for removing metal that could rub onto the coating. It's like using an eraser to clean your ceramic sharpening rods.
 
Man, I was really worried.. that was the longest five years of my life.

I remember when some of the black Cold Steel coatings were teflon and would literally rub off within a day of cutting. That coating was garbage. They eventually did update to a much more durable DLC coating and it lasts much better.

Spyderco can be kind of short with their customers, I just had a run in with them myself, but they will stand behind stuff if you do ever need anything.
