Hi all,
I know this has been going around for quite some time but now I have concrete proof. The Spyderco Bob Lum model tanto is a nice looking knife. The blade is sweet and the scales are fine but when I first got mine I noticed the liners were kinda weak in appearance and feel. I spine wack tested the thing over and over and every single time the lock failed. i figured that I would just take the sucker apart and bend it myself as that has worked withg other knives in the past, Once I took it apart I noticed that the liners were made of what looked like a cheap and very thin spring steel that looked almost chrome plated. I attempt to bend thge liner lock and the damned thing snaps in my hands instantly nearly taking out an eye !. What the hell ????. Has anyone else out there had a similar experience ? Just wanted to bitch a bit to ya all. Thanks and take care.....RDT
