In 1996 I bought a Syderco C19GPS as a self defense knife. After I received it I wasnt happy with the liner lock design or the unlined G10 scales. However, I was very happy with the thick drop point blade which resembles the Wegner Blade with less belly.
Anyway, since then I have used this little knife to field dress a few deer and I believe that is where this knifes proper role is.
Becuase of the unlined G10 scales and flimsy liner lock, Spyderco was wrong to market it as a "tactical" folder. It should have been marketed as a folding hunter.
Anyone else have one of these? what are your thoughts? Has Spyderco discontinued this model, and if so why?
