Spyderco Brad Southard Flipper

I just do not like internal blade stop designs. I would much prefer an external blade stop. Love the way it looks and the quality looks top notch also.

To make it easy to clean off dirt, so the locking portion doesn't keep the knife from locking?

I m carrying mine today. When I first received it , I thought it might be the best Spyderco I ve had, including the pm2 and Bradley. This along with the pm2 are the best edc s I have. Love the steel and f and f. The ergonomics are up there with the pm2. If it remains durable, I can t see why I would rather buy a sebenza.

Speaking of handle ergonomics, I like almost everything about the Southard, but I find the lock-release cutout area to be a poor fit for my index finger. The sharp-edged milling and the profile of the cutout provide too many potential hotspots for my tastes. IMO, the scale would be much more comfortable--though not necessarily better looking--re-profiled like this:

I think that portion of the scale would be better off having a straight bevel downward instead of the step.

Did you mill the scale yourself? I will likely have a custom scale made with a straight bevel... Possibly carbon fiber or orange G-10

'Tis a nice knife indeed. I plan to buy one at some point later next year, when supply has caught up with demand.

I have had mine for a few weeks now and loving it. I did have to make it mine in a few ways.

The only issue I have with it from online photo experience only is that it only carries tip up, and my preference is tip down carry.
