I got one of these a few months back, and it was sharp out of the box. I touched it up a little, and then it was very sharp. With the awkward blade shape, it eventually dulled with me being at a loss of how to sharpen it. I have tried a few different pull-throughs, to no avail. Holding it perfectly vertical while pulling through, the edge on one side is so small I can barely see it, and the other side is about 3 times larger. I can't free-hand it on a stone, and can't afford a stone guide (very pinched for cash, and don't have a decent stone). Any suggestions?

You may want to post this on the maintenance page of this forum, where the sharpening experts hang out. Offhand I recommend you get and learn the proper use of the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker, about $50 online. It is easy, durable (don't drop the ceramic rods!) and extremely versatile.

I think I may just have to keep a sharp eye out for when I go down to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge next week. I have heard down there is one of the best places in the mid-west region to get knives and knife accessories.

You can use a coffe mug for sharpening, if you don´t want to buy some equipment. Use a piece of leather to finish the edge after. On YouTube you will find a lot of videos about this topic.
