C41TIFP Native 5 Fluted Titanium CLIPIT

The C41TIFP Native 5 Fluted Titanium won Blade Magazines 2011 American Made Knife of the Year Award, and for good reason. Guaranteed to light a fire in any knife knuts eyes, it pairs a CPM-S35VN powdered metal blade with an elegantly refined sunburst titanium handle. The Plain Edged blade has a weight reducing spine-swedge and a flat-ground, thin cutting edge for optimal cutting performance. CPM-S35VN is manufactured by Crucible Inc. using their powdered technology. It similar in structure to Crucibles CMP-S30V, but has the addition of niobium (columbium) carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Niobium makes the steel tougher while enhancing resistance to wear and chipping and improves edge retention over basic smelted high-chromium steels. The titanium handle is machined in an elegant sunburst pattern, and designed to generate tactile friction in hand to keep the knife from slipping when gripped. Positioned mid-way across the handles spine is a beefed-up backlock. Through precise manufacturing tolerances, the Native5 backlock is designed and built to perform hearty cutting chores and the blade opens with butter-smooth fluidity thanks to the implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System. A four-way carry-friendly hourglass pocket clip adjusts for tip-up/tip-down and left or right-handed use with a lanyard hole through the center of the clip where it attaches to the handle. Native5 Fluted Titanium is an estimable representative of Spydercos American manufacturing abilities. It showcases Spydercos ability to manufacture high quality, reliable high performance knives, made in Golden, Colorado, that are sharp, smooth and guaranteed to provide performance and overall user comfort and ease of use. There is no surprise it was Blade Magazines 2011 American Made Knife of the Year.
