Spyderco Caly 3 or Benchmade Dejavoo?

Thanks for your opinions, I think I'll go ahead and buy them both. :]

That's the spirit!

I vote for the Caly 3. It's a great knife. The Caly will be a little easier to carry, especially compared to the large Dejavu. The Caly 3 is also only tip -up, but I don't know if that matters to you.
I also think that the Caly is more ergonomic, but I haven't really used a Dejavu, I just held one at a store and flicked it open a few times, they do open really smoothly. The dejavu is a nice knife but I don't really care for liner locks or tip down carry so I never have purchased one.

Have fun with either one, or both, they are both fine knives.

I am very happy with my new dejavoo. It have been with me since I got it and I have spine whack tested it till I felt that I could trust the lock. I believe that there were a few "iffy" locks that gave the 740 a bad name but I love mine. It is alot bigger than it looks and is one of my most comfortable folders to edc for me. Although Id also love to add a caly 3 to my growing collection.

Good decision. I don't own a Caly 3 or a Dejavoo, just a Native (I realize the Native and Caly 3 aren't really comparable) and Mini-Dejavoo. Both are nice, but the Mini-Dejavoo seems more like a work of art (I'm partial to the polished G-10). I hope you enjoy both of them.

Thanks alot guys~

I just ordered them and now I'm playing the waiting game. :/

Hope they come soon!!

I love the design of the mini Dejavoo (then again I am a Bob Lum fan). The liner lock on the Dejavoo doesn't concern me near as much as the crappy ball detent that is used to hold the blade in a closed position. Almost all of them I have held and own will flind open if you just turn the knife upside down and allow gravity to take over.
This is the only issue that needs to be addressed by Benchmade. Other than that the Dejavoo and mini-Dejavoo and great knives for the money.

Right now a fully serrated waved Spyderco Delica is getting alot of back pocket time with me!!!

just tighten the screw

My caly 3 has vertical blade play. My 740 locks up solid and has no play at all. Why is it everyone complains about the 740, but not the caly 3 which has known vertical blade play issues? I like both knives, but if I had to pick one it would be the 740.
