Spyderco Carbon Fiber

Hang on now; if that's the case, has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?:confused:

Wow, that was one of the more convoluted sentences I have seen. Want to try that one again, more slowly this time?

sorry my english is not as fluent as i'd like, my bad. by wire i meant that the weave is made of thinner "bits" what's the word ? thread perhaps?

I think your english is pretty good, just slight variances. I see what you mean about the different layers of Carbon fiber. I still believe it's all CF but I guess it's possible the two different layers make it weaker. Luckily my Sage has held up well. Maybe because it's lighter than the Gayle Bradley.

Threads of carbon fiber might have been better. I thought you were saying that there was wire in the carbon fiber. ;)

"Wires that don't reflects light?"

Peel-ply is G-10 made with carbon fiber instead of fiberglass. Same process but with CF instead of FG.

I thought I'd best clarify something here, to avoid any confusion later down the track....

Peel ply is a name given to a type of finish used with CF & G10

"Peel Ply" is essentially a woven fabric that is applied to the surface of CF, G10, or fiberglass etc with the aid of the appropriate resin. The fabric is placed on top of the CF with resin and then peeled off once dried ( hence the term "Peel ply" ) leaving a "print" of the fabric.

And yes you can do this at home ;)

ok so peel ply was the texture of my stretch before i polish it ?

don't think so, why weaker if i'm right that's as strong as a G10 handle with a layer of CF for look. i don't call a G10 knife weak.

Yes your Cf stretch originally was Peel ply textured.

CF while strong and light weight is harder and therefore more brittle than G10. CF is more likely to chip but less likely to scratch or wear as fast as G10. FWIW I've knocked a few chips off the edges of my Bradley too, although no where near as bad as yours. On the flip side my hard use G10 knives show plenty of gouges and scratches and the peel ply surfaces are well worn.
