Reprofiled edge performance starts around 3:20

I received the knife with a good edge, but it did seem to bind in the pipes I sometimes cut.

Relief edge was applied at around 10degrees per side and I left a micro bevel of the previous edge. The knife's performance has increased significantly. At least, it feels that way.

Thanks for watching.

Hello, thanks for sharing the video.
Which sharpening hardware have you used? also Stropped?
Have you noticed any micro chipping?
Thanks

I sharpened on a 600Grit Lansky diamond paddle, then used a Spyderco UF benchstone to polish the relief edge. The micro bevel remains a 600grit finish and only stropped to remove the burr if there is one.

No chipping issue at all.

I have a DMT D6FC 6-Inch Dia-Sharp Double-Sided Fine/Coarse Bench Stone on the way to do any future reprofiling/relief edges. I am currently away from home so I had to make due with what I have with me.

What kind of pipe was that? Don't have speakers on the computer...

It definitely seems like the cuts were made quicker, so unless you were using a lot more force or something definitely seems like it helped a lot.

It is a type of high pressure hose pipe used for water cooling.

Here is a side view:

After the relief edge was applied on the knife I experienced it required considerable less force to pierce and cut through the pipe. Hand fatigue was also a lot less while cutting compared to the first cuts. Dont worry about the sound. I dont say much and all you hear throughout the video is the machinery running in the background. :)
