Spyderco Chaparral - a classier Strider PT?

I just pulled the trigger on a Chaparral and I am excited to give this beauty a home in my pocket! Thanks for the helpful reviews and comments.

The Chaparral certainly feels like a thinner and classier PT. The CF handles make a difference. The two knives feel very different in-hand. But I think with the Chap, you get a lot of the PT for 1/3 the price..

Right now I am deciding between a chap and a sage1. At first i thought sage1 since I have a DFly which has more similar dimensions to the chap, but the chap is beautiful. I know the sage has a tad bit bigger blade, but i think the comfort and thin-ness of the chap may outweigh a slightly smaller blade. Are there any benefits in having a thicker blade, as in the sage?

The Sage (to me) feels like a much bigger knife than the Chaparral. The Chap feels more like a wider Dragonfly with a wider blade. I guess the benefits of a thicker blade depend on how you'll use the knife. I don't think you can go wrong with the Chap. :)

I have chap and sage 1.

Sage 1 i carry with jeans.
Chap I carry with dress pants

How is the locking on the chap? Possible to flip with one hand? Being that I dont necessarily need the extra blade length, I like the slim/lightness of the chap, but if im spending $100 on a knife, I want to make sure it is quality. Any other differences you have noticed between these two (sage1 and chap) that you care to share? I would appreciate any information

Opening one-handed is easy and sure. Closing, of course, takes two hands.

The Chaparral is a little jewel with the best and smoothest lockback I've seen on any Spydie.
