IMO of course.

I really like the look of the Chief. I hope it'll come out with at least a 4" blade. It's funny to read all the nit-picking above;ie, I'd buy it if it had this ,I don't like that etc... what a bunch of grannies.

I like the look of the knife, but I don’t really care for the action of lock backs, so I would pass unless it was manufactured with a different lock.

Native5 has that bushing system, and the lock on it is built very well right along with the rest of its overall tank like quality. I can easily snap it closed one handed like I do the Manix2 or PM2 if I wanted. I look forward to all different types of Native5's and perhaps a Chief moving forward.

Most likely I will buy this knife. I will certainly buy it, if it will be FFG and carry it if the blade length will be under 3.75" max.
IIRC, Sal mentioned about Native's cousins with 3.5" and 4" blades

It's still in prototyping. A ways off. The 3.5" Native "Shaman" is quite a bit different from the regular Native. The 4" "Chief" is more like th regular Native, but longer.

I could be wrong, but I'm not so sure that the Native 5 has been out for 6 years.
Jay,
You are correct. N5 was released in summer of 2011.

If so, I will take one, please. Sal, thank you, thank you, thank you. I've gotten so heavily into traditional slipjoints and lockbacks, that the only one handed openers I have any interest in are Spydercos these days.

Regardless of what it is, I want to see FFG offered on all Spydercos.:eek::cool:

I'd like to see ffg to but I'd still prefer to see a g10 model.

I am loving lock backs these days. Especially if they use the bushing system like the native 5/Pm2. Slim, strong, and fast as you like.

IMO of course.

You see it also! I first started with Spyderco getting the Native, but wanted something a little bigger. Moved onto the Enduras, but then I found a longing for the leaf shape blade. The Manix family has been amazing!

I do think the native is similar to the manix but I must have a swege..........I must

I actually realised this when I picked up the Native one night in stead of the Manix and noticed how similar they feel.

Neither has a big thumb ramp, something that I have realised I like a lot, yet it still provides solid grip due to the curves for the fingers in the standard grip.

If you want to really see handles that are similar look at the Para2 and Atlantic salt.

He he, swedges are sexy.

It need the Power Lock.
