spyderco civilian

Well call me a mall ninja then. I have a civillian that I keep tucked in the trauma plate pouch on the front of my body armour. I like it there because it is out of sight, but easily within reach of either hand while I am rolling around on the ground with some amped up crack head who wants me dead. I've survived two gun grab attempts without resorting to eviscerating anyone, but I like to keep my options open. Options are good. My civillian has never cut anything, nor will it unless the brown stuff hits the fan. I carry one of a rotating number of different folders in my trouser pocket for general use. I suppose I'm off now to sharpen my ninja stars and buy stock in Dark Ops.
It's refreshing to see a post like this, versus the "hey, knives are strictly for whittling back scratchers and cutting cabbage" responses to the idea of knives' potential for defense or combat. Options are GREAT :D.

"street thugs" or punks dont buy anything they steal it so price dont matter lol.
Not that I participate, but I understand that there is a thriving underground market for firearms of various types in DC, just as there is for drugs of various types.

N.B.: I do NOT equate firearms with drugs in any way except that they are both illegal in DC.

I have a Civilian, just bc I wanted to be able to say I had one, it stays in the drawer. Although it may work well for it's intended purpose any razor sharp plain edged knife with a straight edge and nice sharp tip would make a better SD knife. The BEST Spyderco for SD is the Chinook, not the Civilian (endura can hold its own too), the Best BMs for SD is prob the 710 or 806. All of the knives can be used to stab a civilian can't really.
