Chaparral Blue Stepped Titanium

Spyderco's unique Chaparral series uses a highly refined gentleman’s folder design as a canvas to highlight distinctive handle materials and texture patterns. The Blue Stepped Titanium version is the most ambitious Chaparral to date, featuring solid titanium scales meticulously CNC-machined to produce a breathtaking “stepped” pattern. Composed entirely of straight lines, this amazing pattern creates the illusion of curves and detailed geometric shapes, as well as adding texture to the handle. Partway through the machining process, the scales are color anodized a brilliant blue before they are machined again. The result is a spectacular contrast of alternating blue and silver steps that further accentuates the exacting detail of the design. This painstaking process produces only 12 sets of scales per day and is the most time-intensive manufacturing procedure used on any Spyderco knife.

One of the most exquisitely crafted folding knives ever made, the Blue Stepped Titanium Chaparral features a full-flat-ground CTS XHP stainless steel blade, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that supports ambidextrous tip-up carry.

Stretch II ZDP-189™
Retail : $349.95 Was: $209.99

Clearance Priced : $179.99 Shipped!

The Stretch 2 is the result of a long evolutionary process that began in 1983 with the original C03 Hunter™ model. Spyderco’s first knife with a drop-point blade—a style preferred by many outdoorsmen for processing game—the basic Hunter design was refined over the years and spawned a number of other models, including the Stretch™. Now that evolution has gone a step further to yield the Stretch 2.

The Stretch 2 is a reflection of the feedback Spyderco gets from the many hardcore hunters who regularly use our knives in the field. Its new profile features a slightly longer handle for increased leverage, refined ergonomics to reduce fatigue during prolonged use, and a deeper index-finger choil for an enhanced purchase with a “choked up” grip. Collectively, these subtle changes improve the user’s control over the knife—especially when it is used to process game in harsh field conditions. For increased heft, the Stretch 2 features full skeletonized stainless steel liners, textured G-10 scales, and a four-position hourglass clip. Like all the predecessors in its lineage, it also features a high-strength back lock mechanism that locks the ultra-high-carbon ZDP-189 blade securely open during use and, along with its other features, makes operation of the knife completely ambidextrous.

The Stretch 2 is an extremely refined all-purpose folding knife that is ideally suited to the needs of hunters and outdoorsmen. It also reflects a proud lineage and one of the richest histories in the Spyderco product line.

PITS Folder
Retail : $399.95 WAS: $244.99

Clearance Priced : $199.99 SHIPPED!

British knifemaker Mike Read is a school-trained Marine Engineer and a part-time maker who specializes in practical, highly functional, non-locking folding knives. Drawing its name from Read’s forum name on British Bladeforums, the “Pie in the Sky” or “PITS” Folder is Spyderco’s expression of one of his most popular designs.

The broad, clip-point blade of the PITS Folder is flat ground from Böhler-Uddeholm N690Co steel—a martensitic chromium steel alloyed with cobalt, molybdenum, and vanadium. Its Trademark Round Hole™ clearly identifies the knife’s Spyderco pedigree and allows convenient one-handed opening with either hand. An integral guard at the base of the edge also helps prevent unintentional closure during use.

The PITS Folder’s solid titanium handle scales are skeletonized to reduce weight and increase the handle’s grip texture. They also form the foundation of the knife’s unique slipjoint mechanism. Long machined slots at the top of each handle scale create integral spring arms that are connected by a hardened pin. When the blade is open, this pin applies pressure on a curved ramp on the tang of the blade to stabilize it in the open position. This clever mechanism, together with the blade’s prominent lower guard, helps prevent accidental closure of the knife during use. The handle also includes a reversible deep-pocket wire clip that provides convenient left or right-side tip-up carry and makes both carry and one-handed operation completely ambidextrous.

One of the most robust and capable non-locking folders ever produced, the PITS Folder is a socially friendly, legally permissible knife that offers serious cutting performance.
