I'm with you... I got my first spydie when there were 8 or so to choose from... (all stainless steel handles and AUS-8 or G-2 blade steel I believe)

I don't know how many there were to choose from at the time but I bought an odd lot of 4 Spyders sometime in the 1990s, which included a SpyderCard AUS-6 plain edge, Endura Clip-it AUS-8 combo, Endura Clip-it AUS-8 serrated and a Merlin Clip-It G-2 hawbill serrated. Still have them all and just bought a now "vintage" NIB Endura Clip-it AUS-8 plain edge to complete the Endura Clip-it 3 knife blade set.

Didn't buy any new Spyders since this year and have over 60 now to make up for lost time, which gives you an idea of how busy I've been. LOL! ;)

I'm 38.
Being a Canadian, and with the border issues with knives I finally sat down and decided to run out at get a Spyderco and a Benchmade before it was "too late". I ended up choosing the PM2 to buy first...Well I loved my PM2 so much I've since then purchased a Blurple Military, a Carbon/Ti Military, PM3, Native 5 LW, Dragonfly 2 (ZDP), Tenacious, Alcyone, Manix 2 XL, Starmate, and the Double Bevel. And there's still many I want to cross off the list.

I've yet to buy a Benchmade lol.

Personally I'd love to someday find a nice clean C15. It think it's just one of the coolest and most iconic knives ever made. Unlike many designs the C15 has aged well and you just have to hold anything by Bob T to realize what a prolific and amazing designer he is.

I couldn't afford the C-15 when it was first available... But I loved the design... Still do... I have paid premium prices to purchase several C-15s over the years... and I have held onto a few that were in 'like-new' shape

I can afford the older models now... I just have to pay a lot more now...

I'm 35 and HARD on my knives. I avoided Spyderco because there were so many cheap Chinese ripoffs and some of the designs were a little "out there". I had also been drinking the Benchmade Kool-aid since the mid 90's, so that ate up my pockets (literally and financially). When Benchmade started rolling out boring knife after boring knife, I started looking at other brands and landed on the PM2, suddenly realizing I had been missing out.

59 here but never collected. Have bought about all at one point but only kept 3 because something about most that just didn't work for me. Sadly my favorites they quit making. Pissed I can't get a Slysz Bowie any more.
