A little late on posting this one, but I wanted to share my brief (but positive) experience with Spyderco's warranty dept.

I emailed inquiring about a new set of screws for my Manix 2, as pretty much all of them were dangerously close to being fully stripped. I offered to pay for them but Charlynn just asked me for my address and 2 weeks later I got a full set of screws in the mail.

Just wanted to share my positive experience. Thanks Charlynn (and Spyderco)!

My one dealing with Spyderco years ago was much like the OP's, even after I admitted it was my fault. Glad to see they haven't changed.

The triad of Sal, great knives, and great customer service keeps them my favorite production knife company.

I concur!!! Their CS is great and Charlynn is an awesome person that makes the experience even better!!!
The last time I needed help she went so far out of her way for me that I sent her a flower arrangement!!

I had an issue with my Manix 2, it was dropped, and the cage holding the bearing broke. They said they'd ship me a replacement one. Never received, called a 2nd time after a month plus with no luck. Ended up selling it at a massive loss.

It's just a guess on my part obviously, but my thinking is that your new one would have been shipped upon their receipt of your broken one.

On_the_edge is right. Spyderco fixes knives sent in for repairs. They will give you replacement screws or sell you a new clip, but everything else, you've got to send it in, per warranty they don't want anyone else but them fixing a defective blade.

I'm mailing in my Slyze Bowie today so I guess I'll see how Spyderco handles my problem.

I ripped the wire clip and screw off the knife when it got caught on a door thingie. Totally my fault. I don't know if the screw or threads in the scale are stripped but I'm hoping they can fix it.
