I'm buying a Leafstorm from a member here and want to change the scale out with a Wilkins Grip of some flavor and I also want extra set of torx screws for it (just in case). So I email Spyderco last night asking about purchasing a set of screws and this morning I recieve an email from Charlynn telling me to send them my addy and they will ship me a set. Spyderco is the only knife company that I have contacted who has replied. I've contacted Benchmade about a set of clip screws and Lone Wolf about a badly off centered T2 blade and never heard a word back. I truly appreciate Spyderco and their most excellent customer service. They've more than reinforced any future knife buying decisions I will make and will have a customer for life. Thank you Spyderco.

I know the internet is the cool new way of doing things... but the telephone is still the best way to reach people. I tried emailing Benchmade several times for screws and never got a reply. One phone call and I had a new set of screws.

But you are right, Spyderco and Buck are the only ones that have ever emailed me back on the first try, even if it does take a few days.

I had just read this post when my phone rang. It was Charlynn @ Spyderco responding to an email I had sent her regarding my Military. I've been a fan of Spyderco knives for a long time and with customer service like this they are definitely my #1 knife company.

Yeah I love the Kershaw customer service, I got an email back the same day! and they shipped me a new clip and screws plus a torison bar.

i've tried and tried to reach customer service at spyderco, phone calls and emails. the only person live i talk to is the operator. then i have to leave to leave a message for Charlynn.. email twice, nothing. just wanted to check on my leafstorm..

I have had mixed results with email with just about every company except Kershaw. Kershaw seems to email back right away.

However, I am sure these larger companies get their fair share of spam and probably have some pretty good filters so they might not get all of the emails they are supposed to. That being said, a phone call works every time I have tried.

The only company that I didn't have a great response from was cold steel. They told me I was wrong and if I wanted I could send my knife in and pay to have whatever work that was needed. Haven't bought one since. Customer service really is a large part of a product purchase and why I mainly stick with companies that I have had good luck with their products and know they will take care of it if something is wrong. Heck, they usually take care of it even if it is the users fault which is way more than you can ask for.

that's one reason Chris Reeve get's alot of my money. they have the best CS around, period!!! they Will talk to you. no recording..

Can you send me an e-mail with your info? I'm not part of W&R, but I can see what I can find out for you.

Nothing but good experience here... Rachel recently sorted me out with a few goodies I needed to complete some repairs / customization etc.

The only problem was she damn friendly and I felt like chatting..... that can get pricey when your calling from the other side of world ;)

Bo.

My buddy called Spyderco after 2 of 3 screws went AWOL from his Tenacious pocket clip. They mailed him 3 with zero questions asked!

I just got off the phone with Rachael ordering a replacement clip for my Kraton Stretch. Fast, efficient, knowledgable, and professional. She seemed to be juggling a high call volume but was courteous and did not make me feel rushed. I had a similar recent experience with CRK.

For that and other reasons, I feel OK about giving this company my money.
