I just ordered 3 Spyderco D'allara drop point PE folders. Let me know what you guys like or dislike about this knife and comments in general on it. Thanks.

I really like the folder. It is very ergonomical and the Ball Lock is the smoothest lock I have ever used, even smoother than the Axis lock. The 3D texturing on the handles (like on the Native 3D) is very comfortable with the sweels and depressions. It is a touch wide in the pocket, but it is a very rugged and heavy duty folder for a bargain price. I gave mine away because I already have a Manix that kind of fills that niche in my rotation, but I really think it is a good design and would recommend it to anyone looking to spend a moderate amount of money for a rugged, good cutting folder.

One of the best production knives for the money, period. Only drawbacks of the D'Allara are that it's a little wide in the pocket and it takes a little more concentration to unlock it w/ gloves on. Other than that, it's very good.

Ball lock is very difficult for me to close, can't see it being easy for anyone if their hands were cold, wet, greasy, or some combination of those. Beyond that, my Stretch packs the same 3.5 inches of blade into a handle almost a full inch shorter, has a full flat ground blade, weights 20 grams less in stock trim and darn near 50 less after STR's mods, and for those who care, allows TU/TD clip mounting on either side.

Nice size knife. Great handle configuration and I really like that ball-lock. I haven't got used to the blade shape yet ( I have one, just haven't used it yet).

Possibly the best value for the dollar in a Spyderco. As has been mentioned, the handle is wider than other Spyderco models, yet still pocketable. The smoothest opening knife I own, with a secure ball lock. What's not to like?

yeah, full SS liners..... the 3D FRN handle is supremely ergonomic....
if you like thicker handles (like thicker than the Military) you'll like the D'Allara's handle....

Original D'Allara Rescue had full liners. The revised D'Allara slimmed everything down a bit, scales are slimmer, liners are a tad slimmer and skeletonized to shave weight (just 3 large holes cut out from each liner if i remember correctly).

Either way, the D'Allara is alot of knife for not much money. I've got both the rescue and drop point. :D

this is one of my favorite spydercos. its strong, can be flicked up, and feels great in my hand. great price as well.
