I have the opportunity to purchase a fully serrated spyderco delica for 30 dollars.
should i make the buy?
would you and why?

Depends on the condition but the Delica is a great knife as long as you like the fully serrated version. I personally wouldn't want the fully serrated one but combo or plain edge, yes.

i picked up a aus8 se delica for 25. gifted it to a friend. aus8 is a very serviceable steel, and who knws maybe it will be worth some money someday

thanks guys just one last thing. would grinding the serations off be a bad idea? If i worked slow and made sure to keep the metal cool it wouldnt ruin the steel, would it?

If it's VG-10 steel, hell yeah. Although, I'm not a fan of fully serrated, Delica's normal run about 50 - 55 bucks

Even the latest generation delica (4 FFG) at full MSRP is a good deal. I wouldn't go for the full serrated edge though, if you want serrations go for the combo edge.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the latest delica also uses VG-10 steel, very reliable and holds an edge well.

Unless you collect Delicas of even Spyderco knives in general, I wouldn't buy it. I detest molded pocket clips for one thing, and for $20 more you could buy a brand-spankin' new Delica 4 in VG-10. The Delica is a great knife though!

for me i wouldn't but thats only cuz i think the byrd cara cara 2 in G10 is a better deal.

i wouldn't do it.

i did the same thing to my scorpius and it doesn't look very good especially if its a hollow ground knife, i did mine with a stone, it took awhile but i did it.

its your knife, do what you want with it.

Why would you ruin a perfectly good classic knife that way? Just buy the regular plain edge version instead.
