Spyderco Delica 4 or Gerber Air Ranger?

If you are somehow turned off by the FRN handles of the Delica, get it in stainless. They are great knives...

I don't like ss handles but I'm sure there are followers. However, never, ever, ever compare Gerber knives with spyderco. There's no comparison, +1 for the delica.

I have an older gerber multitool which is ok, and the hacket which I love, but only because it's cheap.

Spyderco is quite literally one of the BEST knife companies as far as inovation and customer satisfaction. You will be nothing but pleased with a Delica. I love each and every one of mine (yes I have many Delica's). They all see plenty of use. My only complaint is that it will likely turn into an addiction. Once you buy one spydie you are bound to buy more.

if you choose Gerber over Delica, you're very very brave (or dumb).....

Delica is a no-brainer. In fact, try the ZDP model if your budget permits.

if you want a bigger knife, get the Endura in ZDP.

At this point it is just piling on, but again Delica. I have handled Gerber knives and never been impressed (at least not favorably). I had resisted getting a Spyderco despite all the favorable reviews because I didn't care for the aesthetics. Just got a waved Delica and a waved Endura, they are awesome knives, great for EDC.

Good luck whatever you choose, see if you can handle them in a store and see which fits your hand, your mileage may vary.

The delica is the way to go. You can't really compare the gerber and delica, they are in 2 totally different classes.

I wasn't going to post in here, but I found only ONE mention of ZDP. For just a hint more than the standard Delica, you can have one of the best knives this side of $150. I was originally put off by the Delica's handles, but the green FRN is good looking, comfortable, grippy, and will not die on you. The blade holds an AMAZING edge, and features the Spyderhole, which is great. The lock is nice and strong, and the fit and finish are amazing. All that with the amazing warranty, the time and effort that Sal puts into working with his customers, and the price make it a knife that you can't afford to miss out on.

Edit- I forgot about the ergonomics. To put it simply- they can't be beaten. Also, you make the clip set for tip up or down carry, and for standard or southpaw carry.
