Spyderco Delica Compared to a ________________?

The one you'll see compared with the delica the most is probably the mini-grip from benchmade, which I prefer over the delica for many reasons.

Interesting. I've owned a couple Mini-Grips in my time and I don't think I'd ever consider it similar, in any way, to a Delica. That being said, I really do appreciate your response and feedback.

I wouldn't say it's similar in any way to a delica, it's just commonly compared to it as a knife in the price range. I guess I misunderstood the post in the first place. That being said, I actually can't think of a similar knife right now, at least not from another manufacturer. I'll just shut up now and let the others chime in!

Endura> Delica
Regular Grip > Mini Grip
At one point they were very comparably priced and some of the most asked about knives and compared knives on many forums. Been the topic of literally hundreds and hundreds of threads over the last 10 years

I'll also throw this one out there - Cold Steel Medium Voyager (it's the smallest Voyager, which is called the "Medium" - it's the middle knife in the image). I think there generally comparable, although the Spydie has a bit better steel, and the Voyager has a stronger locking mechanism, IMHO:

Yup, the mini Grip is the most obvious. It would compare better if the Grip was priced appropriately, I think its about $20 overpriced, but still a great knife.

I personally much prefer the Endura and Griptillian sized knives. If I am going to carry a 3" blade I would just carry one of my Victorinox knives.

There is really nothing really that compares to the Delica as far as ounce per ounce folding Knife.!!**
If you have a Delica you will never need another as you have the best 3" production Knife made..!*
(( my opinion only but to me and myself that is all that matters and I listen to my own Drum. )))..!!**

You could compare a Delica to the CRKT M16kz model in terms of rough pricing and relative range position.

And then when you look at ergonomics, build quality, ease of opening, robustness of locking mechanism, steel edge retention and- ultimately- actual cutting ability- Then even a basic VG10 Delica 4 in FRN comes out streets ahead.

The Delica isn't the most exciting knife in the Spyderco range- but it's stayed a mainstay for over a decade for a reason ;)

The buck vantage comes close especially what you get for 50 bucks . Great steel dicent ergos and it looks great .

I bought a ZT 0770CF as my first ZT and was about the same size as my Delica and a favored sized for edc.

One of the very best values in the knife world, IMO.

The Delica shines in USE. Not a better utility size folder around. Thin slicer grind, easy to maintain steel, ergonomics, price and pocketability.

If you're more into looks and showing off pocket jewelry, sure some knives that are similarly priced/sized will outshine it.

Even before Benchmade's exorbitant price increase and MAP enforcement I never considered the Mini grip the equal of the Delica. The Delica's handles are more ergonomic, the base model has better steel, with the availability of ZDP-189. To get higher end steel you had to pay quite a bit more with the mini grip.

I don't think there is anything comparable to the Delica in that price range, especially the ZDP-189 version.
