Spyderco Delica from Taichung City

I really dig the Cutlery Shoppe orange wharncliffe and only like a few bones more than VG10
I must say you did get me lookimg at the Whancliffe blade on the Delica. I thought that wasn't for me but in that size, and considering I have the leaf shape in both smaller and the larger size , the Endura, (if we can call that one leaf shaped) then the Wharn / Delica could be a handy knife for what I would do with it.

It's a great knife. I picked one up from cutlery shoppe and love it. I was on the fence since I already have a regular delica 4, but so far after a few days in, I love it.

Mr. Bagger,

You can always dye the handle if orange offends you ;)
Hahahahah
I suspect you are ribbing me about all my wanna be dye posts. I dodged that bullet but due to no skill on my part.
Basically the knife I was going to dye finally turned up in the advertised color on the third try.
I dodged the bullet because I fell off the log.
Hahahaha
I was searching today and it looks like I can buy the Delica with the Wharncliffe in black FRN. Does that sound right?

These are the two available at this time:

I just ordered some micarta scales for mine.

Yeah, as posted above, black is available and if you like can buy other normal FRN and swap the scale if dyeing isn’t the option. Sorry, I missed the part of your not liking S30V. Black is VG10 indeed and it also comes in serrated version.

In future there’s probably sprint run with other steel. ZDP might be an option. ;)

I love this blade. Works so well if you do mostly draw cuts. Looks a little funky but its becoming my go to EDC

Dude just wanted to say the S30 Delicas are pretty sweet. If you don't have one yet they're worth a look. I really dig the Cutlery Shoppe orange wharncliffe and only like a few bones more than VG10

Black is VG10

Thanks again for the suggestion

Ordered the black with Wharncliffe.
Happy dog !
Fills in nice between the Endura4 and the Dragonfly those are both ZDP but I am happy with the VG-10 for what I am going to use it for. I will probably use it daily where as the other two only occasionally.
Funny thing is every time I look at it away from the two green handled ones I see/think the Delica is green because I am so used to looking at the green ones. Only when they are side by side do I see the Delica as black.
You can tell the Endura and the little Dragon are both mirror polished edges; the Delica is the stock factory edge. I just unboxed it.

And speaking of stock factory edge.
If you remember my post about my Little Monster in plain carbon and how it held a mostly hair whittling edge for about a year of daily fruit and veg work and how I give an edge a quick test to see if it is still very sharp. If it will hang on my finger nail or fruit skin then it is very sharp.

Well guess who is just plenty sharp right out of the box !
The factory edge from Seki City. NO BUR !
Sharp as heck ! ! !
I wouldn't change a thing (no reprofiling) and that is really saying something in my book. I reprofile almost every thing I buy.
But Seki City isn't playing.
It is refreshing to buy a knife and have the manufacturer take the quality of the edge seriously.
