Spyderco Dialex Design Junior

Anyone know if there is an update on this knife? I am eagerly anticipating owning this knife. When can I buy one?

Thanks for the update Sal. I just realized it's been over a year since this thread started and I'm asking myself "Where'd the time go???"

I'm so excited about this knife. A lot of retailers had it for an ETA of this week, so I was frantically looking for anyone having it in stock. :)

I'll be picking one up whenever it gets released and then keeping my eyes peeled for a possible sprint.

For some wishful thinking, if the Junior sells well, I'd love to see a "Senior" model come out that is basically a 4" Junior with maybe S30v, maybe 4-way clip mounting.

Anyone have any basic dimensions on this thing? I've checked the on-line vids and a few dealer web sites b ut can't locate any pre-production specs. I have the Sages, the Delica 4s, and just bought a Chapparal, so I'd be interested to see where this slots in from a size/weight perspective.

Great looking knife by the way. I hope the production version stays as true as possible to the pre-production version. I'd say Spyderco has this one 'dead nuts' right out of the gate.

here are some specs from a popular dealer:

Romanian Technical Manager Alexandru Dionescu’s young son entered the curious-boy-years and started asking for his first pocketknife. His request motivated Dionescu to create a folder with a prominent handle-guard. The guard parks the hand firmly in control over the blade by effectively blocking fingers from sliding forward onto the blade’s sharp edge. The guard’s position on the G-10 handle leaves limited room for a locking mechanism so a Spyderco Compression Lock was added for its compact components and impressive strength. Flat-ground VG-10 blade has nonskid spine jimping.

Hopefully it's not only designed for "juniors" but priced for them too! Hopefully in the same price range as the tenacious!

Materials and construction suggest a higher price point than the Tenacious; I've seen $120 to $140 range for pre-order on the Junior

I would buy this knife for my father. I have never met someone so prone to cutting themselves it is almost silly. Great design, I love the lack of a choil.

You might want to check out a thread over on the Spyderco forums that has some in-hand shots to give you an idea of size as well:
