Spyderco Diamond Rods -- sold in pairs only?

Strange question maybe but I noticed there are plenty of single rods available for medium and fine but trying to find a single diamond coarse rod replacement. Is there no such thing? Just don't need two new ones.

Thanks everyone.

That is sort of curious. Looks like Spyderco only sells them in pairs, but the ceramics are available as one-offs. The cynic in me wants to assume it's just more profitable for them to sell in pairs, but who knows? Might be a good question for Sal in the Spyderco sub-forum. I'd be curious to hear what he has to say about it. Might have something to do with how they're manufactured (yes, this is complete speculation ;)). OR, maybe the fact that the ceramics are known to get dropped & broken occasionally, and a more frequent call for single replacements makes selling those individually more prudent for Spyderco.

Thanks for verifying this for me. I think it could be that people go through the ceramics more often. Of course I could really make do with just the one rod if I need to. :).

The steel diamond rods don't break. The others are much easier to break. That is why.
