Everytime i go to disassemble a spyderco knife, i struggle because of the overly tight lanyard tube. Is there a way to get the lanyard tube out easily? thanks

No easy way as they are flared both sides. There is a wip on dyeing scales a different colour in the "tips and tricks" section of "Australian blade forums" The same wip may have been posted here. It shows all the stages for compleat disassembly.

The easiest way for me is, once I have all the other screws out, first rotate the handles around using the lanyard tube as a pivot a few times. If they are really tight, I sometimes add a few drops of oil. Rotating them often loosens at least one side up enough that I can wiggle it off the tube. This then usually leaves me with the lanyard tube stuck in the other side. I then use a punch slightly smaller in diameter than the tube. I wrap the punch with painters tape, insert it in the tube, and then use it to give me some leverage to wiggle the tube out. Not what I would call "easy" but I got it down to where it only takes me a few minutes now using this process.

As Zephy mentioned, rotating the scales can get one side off easily. Resist the temptation to get a pair of vise grips after it!

Next, get a piece of 0.25" pin stock and use it to push the tube out. I use my arbor press to do this, but you could also chuck the pin stock in your drill press and accomplish the same thing.
