Spyderco DragonFly 2 reprofiling vg-10 with the KME help

I would love to get a 10 degree bevel from the factory! As someone else said, taking it down to 20 is technically making it duller, not sharper.

Anyway, glad you ended up working it out!

The knife is sharp :) It's laser sharp :) I'm not saying that something like 15 or lower won't be "sharper" but it would get dull faster. It's really easy to chip/destroy an edge with such low angle, not for EDC at all..
 
That stinks you got such a uneven grind. From my experience the lower end spidies have a more uneven grind than the higher end ones i.e. The vg10 models and above. My new delica4 had a surprisingly even factory grind that was better than the last 4 benchmades I had. Then again the heal always seems to be where the biggest deviation is on most all knives.

To help the marring on the heal portion I just tape it up and go a little slower and accurate towards the heal. It seems to work. I'll get some scratches through the tape but I don't care.. All my knives are users so it's not a big deal. Also, I'm definitely no expert..
