Who has one? I just bit the bullet on a white FRN Dragonfly, and am excited and a bit apprehensive to receive it. The blade is the smallest I will ever have used, in your experience, is it still useful? Basically, if I can cut an apple in half without much trouble, and that by inserting the knife and then rotating the apple in my hand, that means the blade is big enough for me. Is that possible? Other comments about it?

Unless you get really big apples, it should handle that little job with no problems. That is, unless you cut clear through the apple and your thumb.

The white D'fly is my fourth FRN Dragonfly. I don't like white FRN (mine looks more like gray now) but the VG-10 steel is a much-needed upgrade to the AUS-8 of my old 'Flies. All in all, I think you will be plesantly surprised at just how capable this small knife is. Just don't tell mine it isn't an Endura. ;)

I can deal with grey as well. I just want to limit my black handled knives at this point in my collection building, I want some variety. I already have a black handled Kershaw Mini Cyclone, a black delrin Case Sodbuster Jr, a 420 stainless framelock Kershaw Junkyard Dog, green aluminum Victorinox Cadet, a bubinga EKA Swede 88 on the way, and now the white FRN Spyderco Dragonfly. I will continue buying knives only if they have a different handle type than I already have from now on. Next will likely be a Centofante IV...the handle is at least a unique shape, and I love the blade on it.

The Dragonfly is a great small knife. It will do just about anything you need in a folder without being hard to carry. It is a great little knife.

I have the SS etched, works great for most tasks
solid, could be a bit lighter for such small knife....heard the G10 handle will be out soon, that be great

I holding out on getting one till they make it with G-10 and a metal clip. The molded FRN clip looks like it'd just break off. Let us know how you like it! :)

Who has one?

One? I have 8 at last count. I seem to have inadvertently amassed a collection of the buggers in their different variations. I love 'em. It's the most useful small knife I have encountered. If you like it in plain edge, check out a serrated version too.

Not yet. Sal said the upcoming G-10 'Fly will have jimping on the choil and thumb ramp, which will carry over to the next generation FRN Dragonfly.

thanks for the info....i might get a dragonfly soon....was just curious....i'm looking at other options in the same price range and i can'tfind anything else that sounds good.....it's hard to beat a nice little knife in vg-10.....ryan

The Dfly is a great knife...

I cleaned one deer this season with mine. Up intil had to start on the tougher parts the VG-10 sailed through the hair, skin and meat very well.

I then let it run through 2 dishwasher cycles and I took the hairdry to it. Then the sharpmaker for a few strokes and I'm back in business.

Very underestemated knife out there.
