Spyderco EDC knife

I have 2 Endura 4,s, a sabre+ffg, and a new para2. Dont think you could go wrong with either.

x1000000000000 for the para 2. I've got many other knives but I carry this one the most. I liked it enough to drop almost $300 on the CF s90v variant.

The Para 2 is indeed awesome, but I'd say the Sage has a little more versatility--just something to think about. It's more subtle when clipped to the pocket and could be considered casual or dressy, depending on the occasion. I'd carry my Sage 1 in a suit but not my Para 2. Overall, I'd say the Para 2 is the better knife though.

IMO, Spyderco is king of EDC knives. You could choose any out of their huge catalog and pretty much not go wrong. Find your price point, size, lock, and materials and you will still have many choices.

You could carry two paras :p

How about a little love for the native? I've been edc- ing mine for 4 or 5 years and it has outperformed all of my expectations. I really love it. And not just because my daughter gave it to me. :D

Go with Endura 4 Wave... it's got a long blade and handle, only weighs 3.6 ounces and can double as a bottle cap opener. Go with black

I still haven't figured out what everyone likes so much about the Para2. I've tried it several times, and it's just not for me.

But seriously, if you haven't gathered from the WIDE variety of suggestions, pick the Spyderco knife that appeals to you most. No matter what you choose, you're going to get a quality knife. You want the one that calls to you. If it doesn't call to you, you won't keep and carry it.

Ditto. Tried the Sage 1, Para 2, and Caly 3.5 and the Caly is the winner because of its deep pocket clip, GREAT blade length for the handle size, thin profile in both dimensions.

I own or have owned many of the Spydies recommended in this thread, such as the Sage 1 and 2, Manix XHP, Para 2, Caly 3.5, Stretch, Salt 1 (Delica 3 shape) plus quite a few more. All very nice knives.

But I can't believe I haven't seen a single Military vote. I love my grey Para 2, and I love how light and thin the linerless Salt is. Those are my two other favorite Spyderco EDCs. But no matter what, I always end up going back to the Military. It can't even be noticed in pocket, it's super light weight for the size, amazingly comfortable, and it will out cut any other Spydie I've owned. Thicker blade stock and nested liners for strength too, if that's a concern for you. Worth the $30-$40 extra in my mind.

I'm pretty fond of the FFG FRN Delicas IMO they just seem to be lightweight yet very sturdy EDC worthy knives not to mention they come in several awesome colors and are well under your budget.

$80: no question in my mind, Manix2. If that's too big, one of the fancy Dragonfly's.
$80+: all depends upon how much $ you want to +, and what size you're comfortable carrying. In the $100 range,
I'd look at Sage1, Chaparral, Native5, and my new fave - Para2.
Best of luck!
- Tom

If $80 is a hard requirement, then go with a Delica 4. It's only about $50 so you'll have money left over. If you don't like FRN (not everybody does) then the Manix 2, which is an awesome, but slightly large, EDC. You could buy a used Delica and Endura for under $80 if you watch carefully. (I know because I have done so very recently.)
