Hello folks, first post here.

I recently lost my Spyderco Police model in a canoeing mishap. In looking for a replacement, I decided I wanted a knife that wasn't as handle-large and was more suited for the outdoor environments that I find myself in. I've owned a number of Endura's over the past few years (including the ORIGINAL "Clip-it" Endura) so I figured I'd give the new one a try.

I'm incredibly pleased with it. I purchased it from knifeworks and they delivered on time with excellent customer service the whole way. The grip added on the thumb-side of the Spyder hold is something I've ALWAYS wanted to have added and, once, feebly tried to do with a Dremel (limited success). I'm also really enamored with the volcano grip handle, it really stays right in my hand no matter which angle I'm cutting with. It's almost a waste of space to say that the knife came out of the box as sharp as it could be, thats a given with Spyderco.

I'm on the road traveling now but I'll be home in about a week where I'll post a nice video showing the disassembly, reassembly and some cutting tests.

All in all, fantastic job Spyderco, I'm very pleased with the knife and I'm anxious to make all my friends jealous when I get home.

Looking forward to your next post. I still have my original "Clip-it" Endura, but am also looking to get an updated (improved?) model.

Be very careful when disassembling the E4. Seriously. There are a few threads here addressing the plastic back spacer / spring holder and the little plastic nubs on it. You can mess it up real nice if you don't put it back together properly.

Wouter has done two very nice tutorials on how to disassemble/reassemble on the D4 which is almost identical as the E4 just smaller.

Yes, you've gotta make sure that nipple for the backspacer gets into the liner's hole. The best way I know of to do this is to assemble everything, and then slide in the lock bar.
