Here's an interesting Endura 4. Interesting because the date code on the box indicates this knife was produced in November 2005 which is shortly before Spyderco released this new version of the Endura line to the general market. The upgrades to this "4" version included a refined handle shape, FRN scales with Bi-Directional texturing and steel liners, the larger 13mm Spydie Hole and the four-position pocket clip -- essentially the knife that is still produce today 17 years later. So, this knife was clearly one of the first Endura 4's produced as Spyderco built up inventory for the 2006 release date. The knife for sale is a testament to the evolution of the iconic design of the Endura, and the saber grind seems to give the knife a heftier feeling in the hand than the FFG versions. Opening/closing action is smooth, and lockup is rock solid with no blade play. I can find no indication of use on the blade which has the original factory edge that is very sharp and easily slices paper. The only sign of use I find is some carry wear, mostly to the pocket clip. My guess is that this knife was carried only briefly and never really used, and then put back in the box and stored away. The box shows storage wear. If you want to an awesome EDC with a little bit of Spyderco history, then this is your knife. SOLD
