I like my Endura more now that I have done the Janich mod to the blade. I was wondering though, is this knife considerd a hard use knife, as compared to a ZT or other such knife? Mike.

I own a FFG Endura, and it's as hard-use capable as anyone could reasonably expect a folding knife to be. Stout lock-back is among the strongest designs out there, the 3mm thick blade is plenty tough for most anything you'd reasonably use a knife on, and I've never had any durability problems with Spyderco's FRN handles on any model.

General consensus I've read seems to agree, as the Endura's durability and suitability to hard use has been fairly well covered. (I Googled 'site:bladeforums.com spyderco endura hard use' and got these results, just to name a few):

no, the endura is a light to moderate duty knife that if focused on slicing. a ZT folder or something like a spyderco manix2 is more suited for heavier use. don't get me wrong, the endura can handle most everyday tasks that you can throw at it, but if you need a knife to beat up on get one that's more stout.

can you define "hard use"? are you planning on using it as a prying tool? i think the endura can handle any cutting or slicing task the ZT can handle.
