Spyderco Endura vs. Spyderco Police for carry at the camps!

FlashOfLightning

I see your point, regarding Edura/Police/Millie I'll bet it all boils down to economics. The decision makers or even the trouper himself, would want the best usable product at the lowest cost possible,as there environment seems to dictate it. I believe even the Swedish Army issues the Lowly Mora knife.
There lite weight, work great and are cheap for cash. Maybe some of the boys
also bring along one of there own Falknivens

Ill bet anyone on this forum 5 dollars you are faker than pam anderson's breasts.

you were given an answer, take it. someone said price, I said preference, why are you still here? again you are asking EDC people (most of whom have never been in the military) about the preferences of your supposed specops friends.

like I have stated in another post you are the biggest troublemaking punk I have ever met in ANY forum I have ever been in, I think you have never even held a womans breast let alone a knife, I dont care about your opinion, youve stated it, stop posting this thread and harassing me, whats your fixation on me anyway?, you got a thing for men in uniform?

I have been hearing alot lately that the prefered folder in the Special Forces camps (amongst others) is a Spyderco Endura, which I own three variants (great knife by the way)as well as alot of other units, but i think they might be overlooking another great knife, the Police model, it has the same blade steel(except the new ones) virtualy looks the same, but in my opinion has better features, such as, a longer blade, bayonetted(spearpoint tip) hollow grind, etc.,so if they are carrying an Endura over the Military, why is the Police overlooked?
However, I do understand that the slickness of the handel comes into play(in which I belive the handel ergonomics counter) but a smooth handel never seems to be a factor with the Chris Reeve Sebenza( another favorite amongst operators) wich is another heavily coveted knife,so I dont get why the Police isnt prefered over the endura???

I personally like the features on the Police better. I don't like stainless handles, but the Police 3 looks very nice. I may pick one up soon.

As for the rest of this nonsense. Please have the common courtesy to take this stuff to W&C, email, or a candlelight dinner. It's contributing nothing.

Like I said in other posts and in the general guidelines sticky.

Insults are not tolerated here.

I agree with p_mcmanis 100%.
This smells fishy to me. :thumbdn:

As for the question "why the Endura and not the Police" (if you're talking about the older Police model and not the newest one)....

It's heavier than the Endura....and soldiers have enough stuff to carry without adding even more weight.
It cost more....when you get paid NCO pay the cost matters....which is why CRKT knives are so popular among the troops.
The older model had the word "police" on the blade....unless you're an MP, no self-respecting soldier is going to carry a knife that says "police", especially when he can carry one that says "Military".:D
It's not the latest thing....the Police is a fine knife, but the SS model has been around for over twenty years....soldiers like new toys.

Definately fine points. I wonder if it could have something to do with handle material? Maybe FRN just holds up better in the environments that soliders are going into, maybe they find spyderco's g10 to not work well with their issued gloves. this would be something that a real military person could chime in on and let us know, because Im now curious about it.

Agreee/disagree it does not matter.

Best to get your point across here with respect and if you want to trade flames take it to W&C unless infractions and or banning are in your agenda.

Keeping it up after you have been warned does not wash very well and just shows more childish behavior and leaves the door open for us to escort it out.

mcmanis and I have been chatting and all is cool.

FlashOfLightening - no more minor infractions or warnings.

I read the thread and am wondering why mcmanis gets a pass on this and flash is trashed?
