Spyderco Escalator

I've heard rumors about a Bram Frank designed Escalator made by Spyderco? Does anyone know anything about this knife? When it will be in production, etc.? An Escalator with a Spyder hole sounds like one sweet knife and I know that many of the people I know who currently have an Escalator (or wish they did) would be very interested in this new model. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There has not been an official announcement yet. Please refrain from requests for info etc. until one is made.

It is true that Spyderco purchased all design rights from Rekat for the Bram Frank/Rekat collaboration.

The model has been refined by Bram & the Spyderco design tream and will be produced later this year. Can't say too much at this time.

Great news Sal. If and when you do make it, I will be first in line to buy one. Might I also suggest you make a trainer like REKAT did. That's so important with a design like this.

Short blade, long handle, low point - like a Stanley knife on steroids, with a blade that's the correct length for making the circular cut around a bagel. Obviously a completely utilitarian knife! One I'll want to keep as is, when we beat our swords into plowshares and put our Civilians to mushroom harvesting duty!!

(OK - I might want to round off the horn at that point.)

Put me in line too. Trainer and video too, in an imperfect world.

No I haven't seen the article yet. It was the 1st. He said he would mail it to me. I guess he didn't get the pics in time?
