Not 100% sure, but doesn't look right. The best way to validate the original Mamba is the shiny patterned CF scales and the thick Ti liners.

It's one of the most faked Spydercos out there, unfortunately.

Hmm, theres possibly some variance in manufacture, this ones micarta (just looking for the model number does anyone have it handy?) but theres a few things I query here ..

We were pretty (well 99.9%) sure it was fake, theres a local auction site where a guy is currently selling a bunch of fake Spyderco's.

Its quite sad, can point it out in the Listing Q&A but whether people are just incredibly stupid, or they perhaps simply don't look at the Q&A, dunno but they're selling thats for sure.

Hi,

I bought a Spyderco Civillian from a guy. It looks like the the real deal but when i compare it with my police and harpy model it looks/feels a bit different.
Can anyone help me out here. (My writing is not that good. Sorry for that, i'm from europe.)

Hi all, I hope this is the correct thread. I think this one is fake. Anyone willing to comment? Although, its quite nice. Box says it is a 1003-K. Thoughts?

A couple of thoughts.

1) The serration grind looks wonky.

2) 1003-K is an old designation, used long before VG-10 came into use.

If it is a genuine Spyderco, it was in the wrong box.
 
I believe that it was made and sold by our maker in Seki who was also our distributor in Japan. Probably legit.

Hey guys, any guidance here? Cant make up my mind if this is a real Shaman or a fake. Lettering seems really close. It all seems really close to me. If it is a fake, it seems like a well executed counterfeit to me. But im not the expert on spyderco knives.

Used? Off eBay? I ask because the edge looks weird up to the nub! There’s usually a small spot where the factory sharpening does go all the way. Other than that it looks legit. Good clone if it is fake. IMG_9662.jpeg

Yes, it is actually on ebay. I should have put that into my first post. If it isnt real it is probably the best counterfeit ive seen to date.

I thought so too. It looks authentic. Only thing that stops me is that it is being sold on ebay 😂 if it is a fake, its a very good fake. Ive purchased multipe spydercos on ebay because i can usually tell if theyre legit or not. This one has had me on the fence the past couple of days.

Is it being sold as new and what’s the price? If it’s considerably cheaper than normal S30V shaman ..that’s a tell!

Yes sir. Its being sold as new and asking 100 bucks. Should have probably trusted my gut the whole time. It just looks so close to the real thing if it isnt. Best fake ive seen. Even the stone wash on it looks correct. Ive seen fakes from other places and the lettering and stone wash never matched the real ones. Ive won legit spydercos on ebay before. Cheapest one ive won was for 140, but it was also listed as used.
