I have noticed that Becker and Rat both have fan groups, why doesn't spyderco? Or if they do where is it and how do I get in?

I don't know of anything for Spyderco like the Rat Pack, but you should prolly ask over on their factory forum. There could be and I've just missed it.

What in the heck is a fan group, and what are the benifits of one?

The only Spyderco fan group I know anything about is the group of fans that come here, and to the spyderco forum. Seems group enough to me.

Of course I am a 50 year old fart that doesn't even text or Facebook, so I have no idea what the benifits of a fan group would be since I don't even know what one is:o

well for example one benefit is recently the becker fan group the beckerheads has the first chance to buy the BK10 which was a very limited addition and also they got a very discounted price.

Just my old fart ways I guess, but if I have to be in a "Fan Group" to get something at a discount then I just won't be getting it.

i was simply looking for updates as to what they are up to and yeah the occasional perk. Also wanted a way (similar to the beckerhead number) to establish that i am a fan of spyderco

If you're posting here or at Spyderco's own forum I'd say you're already a part of a social group. If you write "I'm a fan of Spyderco" then you've established it. Personally, I don't feel you need a number or a stamp to do it in the online world.

IMHO the best way to establish that you're a fan is to get the spyderco spider tattoo. Just a thought.

The best way I can think to show that you are a fan is to give one away and convert a non-knife person or two to a Spyderco carrier.

If you love something, give it away...

true enough, and I agree with all the points brought... however there is probably a point of .......vanity? or possibly elitism in my thought process. but again i do understand that in owning using and endorsing the knives is being a fan.

i dont really feel any sense of being better (for the record) i actually am rather new to the forums and to the hobby in general. I just was looking for a way to express a fondness for Spyderco's product

I suspect the spydie hole on your knife is all you need to be in the group.

Oh man, now thats funny stuff right there:p

I had no idea you had to be all that smart to be in a "Fan Club"....then again I'm not, and not even close to being in the elite, so that just may be why I don't get it:confused:

I do know a little about knives, if that counts for anything around here:p
