I've been carrying my Farid K2 a good bit lately...and today it got the irrigation test. Sliced some new sod around a few irrigation heads. I was left with a surprisingly sharp working edge.

I've been very happy with edge retention and performance of the K2 as an EDC...the action stays smooth even when exposed to grit and mud which is a big plus for me!

Just thought I'd share, the only posts I've seen about the Spyderco Slysz Bowie or Farid K2 have been reviews, focusing on Ed retention and basic design, and I've seen very few comments from people actually carrying them and using them daily.

Sod can be rough on an edge. Your experience with edge retention on the S10V steel is good to hear. I like seeing a K2 get used like God intended.

f250: How is the K2 ergos and does yours have a sticky lock? Love pics of users!

The ergos are good...obviously it's a large knife, so small delicate tasks aren't it's strong point. But I can still choke up on the handle and do more detailed cutting. It's comfortable to hold and use, I haven't developed any hotspots at any point.

I do have sticky lock, I've learned to work with it and it's loosened up some. I brace the frame against my leg when I unlock it, and push the joint of my thumb against the lockbar instead of the tip of my thumb. That lets me close it one handed. It's still sticky though...that's my one complaint of the knife. I can deal though, I love big knives and this one is great, with excellent fit and finish.

Cleaned it up and stropped it on 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper, then my leather strop, and it shaves again! Not quite as cleanly as before, but it is actually shaving sharp.

1095 or Aus8 wouldn't have been able to even cut paper after it cut that sod yesterday.

I did notice leaving some mud on the blade for a couple of hours left stains...I've read CPM 10v isn't a true stainless, I guess there's my proof.
