Spyderco for work

i also agree!the stretch or GB 1) as a work tool,i am always using one of my GB-1's around the yard, but one should put a patina to keep rust away!after that it makes one grate work knife, the manix 2/g10 is also good in this role as is the stretch/VG-10.

I really like my Delicas, but I personally wouldn't use them for the stuff you're describing...particularly the HAP40 variation which is ground a little thinner than the standard VG-10.

The Stretch is a little more robust. Thicker blade stock, stouter tip, beefier handle. It would probably be my choice.

I can't speak to GB as I haven't owned either the 1 or 2, but it seems to be the go-to work knife for many folks.

I have most of the knives that have been suggested, along with many other Spycerco models. My work knife of choice for construction tasks is a saber ground ZDP189 Endura. It is a bit more robust than the FFG models.

Indeed. I wish the saber ground E4's came in all the sweet colors as the ffg's. Light green, saber grind, spyderedge, oh yeah.
