Some folks and material snobs complain about Spyderco's FRN, but I love it. Yeah I like G10, CF and even aluminum, however, FRN offers a better value, grip and, for utility, feel than the others. I love all the colors, but I'd like to see more sprint runs, particularly a "zombie" or bio-hazard bright green, OD green, maybe a red. I'd love to see them in the Stretch in particular, what a cool blade shape...so practical and effective for chopping and slicing. Great job Spyderco!

I also love Spyderco's execution on their FRN handles. The bi-directional texture is great for grip, and somehow exudes and inexplicable aura of "quality." I'm with you on wanting more colors, although our preferences differ. I'd like to see some foliage green, khaki, and other earth tones. They are doing some special pants colors (jeans/khaki) for Kahr arms, but I think I'll pass on the shortened blade.

There are some toxic green spydies.. Like the catcherman. I would like to see more though!

We're working on a modification for the Stretch. We've created the design with a deeper finger choil, more like the Caly series. Many of our customers felt it would be better if it were a tad deeper. I also feel that way. We're going to make a slab version (as I remember it's coyote brown G-10) first to make sure it works before changing the mold. Once the mold is changed, we can try other colors. The different colors on our Endura's and Delica's seem to be well received.

Coyote brown Sal? That's good too but what about BLUE G10? Please make both... eventually :D

Blue G10 Stretch>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

G10 stretch in blue and brown. Now that's what b I'm talking about. I'll buy 1 of each. Love my stretch. Most ergo knife known. Please please please!
Any idea on blade steel? Or typical vg10. I'd love more sprint stretch runs with exotic steel. Have my SB Stretch in my pocket today.

Oh god I just had a joygasim. The stretch is my new favorite knife and I have a strange love for brown handles.

I am also a reformed FRN snob. For years I thought it was cheap and ugly. But after I got a Delica then a Native and finally a stretch I love the FRN for its slimness and grip.

Will the modifications be done to the existing Stretch mold or will it be a new mold with the possibility of the current mold being reused for something like an update to the Atlantic???

Oh boy! Brown g10 and zdp, I will be buying that one!

Thanks for the wide variety you guys put out Sal. Just amazing.

I missed out on the white handles. Is love to see them make a come back, especially on the delica, dragonfly, and maybe something in h1. I've been dying for an excuse to try out something serrated from the salt lineup.

I'd like to see the same colors but darker. The manix dark blue id like to see on a delica. Same with dark red and dark orange.

I was eagerly anticipating a CF scaled version of the new Stretch which was previously indicated as the material of the new Stretch under the "Casual Bombshell" thread on the Spyderco Forums (reference Post 1219 of SCBT). I hadn't seen anymore discussion where this had changed......unless I missed a thread somewhere? Definitely disappointed if it were to be brown G-10 though when the opportunity for a grippy or woven CF would be far and away much more appreciated by most people.

I do like FRN as well but I already have two FRN Stretches (ZDP & Super Blue) as well as the Blue Nishijin Damascus so I was really looking forward to the opportunity to get the new Stretch in the CF that I am currently missing of the older styled version since it was released before I started collecting knives.

Also, if G10 is to be used then it's very disappointing to hear of brown G10 - although it could be worse, it could be have been orange. Current releases of great knives that have only come in brown have prevented me from purchasing blades that I would otherwise enjoy having such as the Southard and Calypso. At least with the new all Black Southard coming out I have an opportunity to get an attractive version of that knife.

I'm sure I'll get over the bad news, if it is true and not just an error in recollection; it's just that if I really want to get the first slabbed sprint of the new version Stretch then the only acceptable colour choice after that would be a dyed black G-10 modification. I don't know if the G10 was chosen over the originally announced CF for price point reasons but you only get one opportunity for a update of an iconic knife like the Stretch and it seems a shame to alienate a large segment of the customer base with the brown colour that so many of us Spyderco fans would rather do without.

One of the greatest valid criticisms of the Southard is that many people - even those who have purchased them have said that they are not crazy about the brown G10 colour. So if it is to be brown G10 then so be it........I just hope that there is a Sprint later on with CF scales. It would be nice to have a CTS204P/M390 steel as well but I suppose with where it is being produced that isn't an option? I do like ZDP as well but a new Sprint Stretch in a presently not offered Super SS would have been absolutely amazing and a fitting reintroduction to such a beautiful and functional knife!

Wow! We will finally have the Stretch in different colors! Man, I may just have to get another one as long as the choil isn't too deep. I know I am in the minority here, but I actually like the choil the way it is!
The Stretch is far and away my most carried knife! I have never used a knife that just fits my hand better than this!
