I won't do one on this knife, but I know it will pass with no problem.

That is one great edge. How long did it take??

About 2 hours or so, M4 took me awhile to reprofile taking my time and the steel was pretty thick. After I got the bevel set it wasn't bad.

M4 isn't the easiest steel to work with when removing metal.

I stopped doing sharpening for others at this point...

I can understand why you say no. When you offer to hire yourself out, ppl end up giving you the dullest knives in the world, and a simple steel will take hours to sharpen, and they only want to pay like $10....which is definitely not worth it. It took me about 2.5 hours to get a hair edge back on my friend's spyderco pacific salt!

Hi Sal,

I feel it's really not worth it for me at this time anymore for various reasons.

Beautiful dude...

How do you keep it so clean rust/patina wise? I have a lot of trouble keeping mine clean...

Please tell us how you got the mirror edge. Did you do it or did you have it done somewhere?

Thanks,

bootcher

i saw your edge pro video a few days ago. your sharpening skills are crazy.
is that even possible to do on a sharpmaker?

Can you run down your procedure of sharpening with the Edge Pro? Which stones/tapes do you use?

how do you get the tip so nice and pointy on the edgepro? and is there a secret to avoid scuffing the sides?

Watch the videos that come with the Edge Pro. To avoid scratching up the knife simply practice on a knife and get your technique down. Refining your technique is the best way.

I knew your picture was going to be a treat. I'd give anything to get edges like that.
